  • Pair of Bulldogs Honored by ITA

    After the season's conclusion, the Yale women's tennis team keeps winning off the court. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the ITA Division III Regional Award winners for the 2017-2018 season earlier on Monday, and both Senior Sunday Swett and first-year Samantha Martinelli were recognized by for their achievements.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The announcement of the All-Ivy awards brought some good news to the Yale women's tennis team, who saw two players place on the 2018 All-Ivy League teams, which honors the best players in the conference this season. First-year Samantha Martinelli made the first team in both singles and doubles, with senior Elizabeth Zordani making up the other half of their powerful doubles duo.

    The Yale women's tennis team's 2017-2018 season came to a conclusion earlier Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 loss to the Columbia Lions (12-8, 4-3 Ivy). The Bulldogs finished the year with a 6-18 record (0-7 Ivy).

    Coming off of a two week hiatus, the Yale women’s tennis team is ready to spring back into action with a weekend trip to Williamsburg, VA. to take on William & Mary. Afterwards, the Bulldogs continue their spring break swing in Florida, taking on Clemson and UCF in Orlando. It will be a challenging two weeks for the Bulldogs as all three of their opponents are ranked in the top 50 of the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
