Bulldogs Compete against Brown in Scrimmage

Providence, RI - The Bulldogs opened their spring season with a scrimmage against Brown in Providence Sunday. Yale's freshmen and sophomore classes led the way in the scrimmage.

The freshmen team of Lindsay Clark and Lauren Ritz defeated Kirkpatrick and Vucetic of Brown 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Clark and Ritz also won each of their individual singles matches. Clark defeated Mansur at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-0. Ritz defeated Kurihana at No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-4. Ritz also played a set at No. 8 singles and won against Butler 6-1.

After completing an undefeated Ivy Leagues singles season last year at No. 4 singles, sophomore Jessica Rhee picked up where she left off, only this time at No. 2 singles. Rhee defeated Schonfeld 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Sarah Lederhandler defeated Vucetic at No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-2.

In other doubles action, junior Janet Kim and senior Lindsey Dashiell took care of business at No. 3 doubles by edging Mansur and Kurhara 9-8.
