The Yale women's tennis team, No. 64 in the latest ITA rankings, lost to No. 71 Nebraska, 5-2, in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday morning. Reshmi Srinath and Rashmee Patil won singles matches at the No. 3 and No. 5 spots respectively.
The Bulldogs dropped two close doubles matches. Yale's No. 1 doubles team of Christine Alford and Karlyn Martin fell, 9-8 (3), to Nebraska's Rose Ketmayura and Leslie Harvey. While at the No. 2 spot, Patil and Aimee Kim dropped a tough 9-7 decision to Gitte Ostermann and Katie Garcia.
In singles play, No. 3 seed Srinath won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3, over Harvey, while Patil won 8-6 over Anna Oehme in the No. 5 spot.
Yale (2-2) returns to action tomorrow to take on No. 48 Ohio State, at 10 a.m. in Columbus, Ohio.
