Bulldogs Fall to Boston College 5-2

Feb. 23, 2008

Boston, MA - With injuries sidelining both sophomore Sarah Lederhandler and freshman Lauren Ritz, the Bulldogs (2-2) fell to Boston College (4-1) Saturday in Boston. Freshman Lindsay Clark and junior Lilian Nguyen came away with singles victories for Yale in the loss.

At No. 4 singles, Clark cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Alina Sullivan. Nguyen took care of Sarah Svoboda 7-5, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.

Sophomore Jessica Rhee fell in a hard fought three set match against Dasha Cherkasov at No. 2 singles. After losing the first set 6-4, Rhee won the next 7-5 before falling in the last set 7-5.

With a makeshift doubles lineup in place as a result of injuries to Ritz and Lederhandler, Yale lost the doubles point. The lone doubles victory for Yale occurred at No. 3 doubles where Nguyen and freshman Stevi Petrelli won 8-6 against Gia Nafarrete and Lana Krasnopolsky.

Yale will battle Boston University Sunday in Boston.
