CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Yale women's tennis fell 5-2 to Boston College today, the team's first loss of the season. Despite winning two of three doubles matches, the Bulldogs lost several close singles matches and could not pull off an upset of the No. 52 Eagles.

In doubles, No. 2 Rashmee Patil and Olivia Nix defeated Szilvia Szegedi and Alina Sullivan 8-3, and No. 3 Lindsey Dashiell and Janet Kim downed Gia Nafarrete and Sarah Svoboda 8-2 to give the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead.

The lone win in singles for Yale came in the No. 5 slot, where Nix defeated Svoboda 6-4, 6-3. The Bulldogs fought hard in several other matches, as No. 4 Aimee Kim and No. 6 Christine Alford each played to tiebreakers in the third set, but it wasn't quite enough.
