No. 42 Yale Defeats University of Texas at Arlington 4-3

ARLINGTON, Tex. - No. 42 Yale improved to 7-4 on the season with a 4-3 victory Tuesday over the University of Texas at Arlington. The Bulldogs won the doubles point in the victory.

At No. 1 doubles, freshman Vicky Brook and sophomore Lindsay Clark defeated Daiana Negreanu and Klara Jagosova 8-2. Senior Janet Kim and junior Jessica Rhee rolled to an 8-3 win over Maria Martinez-Romer and Nicola Matovicova at the No. 2 doubles slot.

Kim cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 win over Monika Hadvigerova at No. 1 singles. At the No. 2 singles slot, Rhee battled to a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 over Jagosova. Brook pulled out a 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 win over Katarina Micochova at No. 4 singles.

The victory for Yale came on the day Yale was announced as the No. 42 ranked team in the nation's ITA rankings. This ranking marks Yale's highest ranking since March 2003.
