The No. 46 Boston College Eagles were too much for the Bulldogs to handle, sweeping Yale 7-0 and winning three of the six singles matches in straight sets. Reshmi Srinath, Ashley Martin, and Rashmee Patil all took their opponents to three sets.
In singles, Christine Alford fell at the No. 1 position to Szilvia Szegedi, 6-1, 6-1, while Karlyn Martin was the loser by the same score to Allison Ashley at No. 2. Srinath won the first set against Nida Waseem, but fell to the Eagle 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3
In the No. 4 position, BC's Morgan Landes defeated Yale's Ashley Martin in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. No. 5 Rashmee Patil fell to the Eagles' Lindsey Nash 6-3, 6-7 (8), 1-0 (4), while Amy Moldon defeated Olivia Nix 6-0, 6-3.
In doubles, the team of the Martin sisters was defeated by Emily Hellberg and Waseem, 8-3, and Aimee Kim and Patil fell 8-5 to Ashley and Landes. Finally, Srinath and Nix were 8-6 losers to Szegedi and Nash.
The Elis remain in Boston to play Boston University tomorrow before returning home on April 9th to host Princeton and Penn in their Ivy League weekend opener.
