The rest of Yale's victories were straight set wins, with Reshmi Srinath dispatching Erika Takeuchi 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 and Ashley Martin earning a 6-2, 6-5 win over Kasia Preneta. Olivia Nix rounded out Yale's five singles wins with a 6-2, 7-5 defeat of Nisha Suda at No. 6.

The Big Red earned the first point of the contest by winning two of three doubles matches at No. 1 and No. 3. Patil and Aimee Kim earned the win at No. 2 doubles by an 8-6 score. Cornell's other point came when Laura Tallent defeated Christine Alford at the No. 1 position in a 6-4, 6-4 game.
