New Haven, CT - Stephanie White's win at No. 6 singles provided the clincher as Yale topped Brown 5-2 Tuesday afternoon to move to 5-0 in the Ivy League. The Bulldogs dropped the doubles point, but rallied to win five of six singles matches. White's comeback victory highlighted the effort.
"Steph White really stepped up today to win the first set in a tiebreaker after being down 3-0," said head coach Chad Skorupka. "I think that match gives her a lot of confidence heading into the final weekend."
Yale, seeking its first Ivy title since 1989, will look to take momentum from Tuesday's victory into matchups at Dartmouth (2-2 in the league) on Friday and against Harvard (4-0 in the league) in New Haven on Sunday.
"We started slow and lost the doubles point, but we finished strong," Skorupka said. "Now we have to have a couple good days of practice to prepare for the weekend."
