Women's Tennis at Brown Invitational, Day One

In the first day of play at the Brown Invitational, the women's tennis team had a successful showing, advancing four players in singles and winning all three doubles matches.

In the B flight singles, Reshmi Srinath, who won the C flight of the Rice Tennis Classic last weekend, advanced to the semifinals. She was joined by teammate Ashley Martin, who moved on a round.

Freshmen Aimee Kim and Rashmee Patil also advanced today in the C bracket after successful matches.

In doubles action, all three Yale teams were victorious. Sisters Ashley and Karlyn Martin won their match, as did the team of Christine Alford and Stephanie White, who won the consolation doubles championship at Rice. Srinath and Patil also moved on with a win.

The tournament continues tomorrow.
