Syracuse, NY - The Yale women's tennis team lost 4-3 to the Maryland Terrapins today in Syracuse to fall to 0-2 to start their spring season. Sophomore Janet Kim, Senior Christine Alford and Senior Olivia Nix all picked up wins in singles, but it was not enough to beat the No. 32 ranked Terrapins.
Kim defeated Maryland's Eleanor Peters 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Alford and Nix won at No. 4 and 5 singles, respectively. Alford defeated Elyse Steiner 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (10-4), and Nix defeated Maggie MacKeever 6-4, 7-5, but Yale lost the doubles point as Maryland swept all three of the doubles matches.
The Bulldogs travel to Hamden, CT to play Quinnipiac on Sunday February 4.
