NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 51 Bulldogs will look to receive an At-Large bid when the NCAA Tournament bracket is revealed during the selection show Tuesday at 5:20 p.m. on ESPNEWS.
Yale finished this season with a 14-6 record, 5-2 in the Ivy League. All six of the Bulldogs losses this season came against teams currently ranked in the ITA top 75. Four of those losses came against teams that are ranked in the top 25 (No. 10 University of Tennessee, No. 17 University of Michigan, No. 19 Vanderbilt University, and No. 23 Southern Methodist University).
Yale won four matches against three teams that have already earned NCAA Tournament berths (two wins over No. 42 Princeton, one win over No. 59 Boston University, and one win over University of Texas at Arlington).
"I think we've proven that we're one of the best 64 teams in the country, at this point in the season, as evidenced by our 14-6 record, an ECAC Championship which included seven of the eight Ivy League teams (Penn opted not to play) and four nationally ranked wins," Head Coach Danielle Lund McNamara said. "Prior to injuries, we were ranked as high as No. 41 in the country in the March rankings."
Injuries did somewhat derail the Bulldog's season as Yale lost a close 4-3 match against No. 62 Brown while playing with an injury depleted lineup. On top of that, Yale played much of the season with players fighting through injuries.
