New Haven, CT - Five Bulldogs were honored by the Ivy League Tuesday with all-Ivy selections. For the second year in a row, sophomore Janet Kim earned a first team all-Ivy singles selection. Senior Christine Alford and freshman Sarah Lederhandler earned second team all-Ivy singles honors. Freshman Jessica Rhee earned an honorable mention for singles. Alford and senior captain Olivia Nix were also named first team all-Ivy in doubles.
Kim, playing in the No. 1 singles spot, posted a 5-2 record in the Ivy League this season. She finished the year with an overall record of 23-9 to secure her second straight first team all-Ivy selection. Lederhandler, playing at No. 2 singles in her first year on the Bulldogs, earned second team honors with a winning record in the Ivy League on the season. Fellow rookie sensation Rhee, playing at No. 3 singles in her first year on the Bulldogs, earned an honorable mention for singles after completing an undefeated 7-0 season.
Alford made a return to the ranks of All-Ivy singles for the first time since her freshman year as she earned second team All-Ivy distinctions after posting a 6-1 Ivy League record at No. 3 singles this season. Alford also teamed up with fellow senior Nix to earn first team All-Ivy doubles distinction after finishing the year with a 5-2 record in the Ivy League.
