McCoy Named Academic All-District 1

Rhodes Scholar Earns Another Academic Honor

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dakota McCoy has added another academic award to her already impressive resume, earning women's track/cross country first team Academic All-District 1 honors.

McCoy, who was a hurdler and thrower during the course of her career, has previously been awarded Rhodes and Goldwater Scholarships. Earlier this month at the Athletic Department's Senior Reception, she was the recipient of the Kiphuth Student-Athlete Distinction Award, which is presented to the male and female student-athletes who rank highest in scholarship and have earned two varsity awards.

McCoy, who sings in the Yale group Whim and Rhythm, also worked in the paleontology division at the Peabody Division. She is a native of Wexford, Pa.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.
