Distance Medley Relay Team Scores

BOSTON, Mass.—After three days of competition, the 2014 ECAC Championships, hosted by Boston University, have come to a close. The Bulldogs made a solid showing to finish in 16th place (18 pts.) out of 46 schools competing.

Yale's top score on Sunday came from its 4x800-meter squad. The four Bulldogs—freshman Delaney FitzPatrick, sophomore Shannon McDonnell, freshman Meredith Rizzo and freshman Emily Waligurski qualified to compete in the race after placing second in Saturday's preliminary round. During the final round of competition, they again stole second place in 8:55.20—a time not far off Saturday's season best. The squad earned eight points for their team.

The Bulldogs' distance medley relay squad also earned a point for Yale with its eighth-place finish (11:52.28). Senior Sarah Barry, junior Elle Brunsdale, freshman Chandler Olson, and freshman Frances Schmiede competed on the squad.

Also continuing on from Saturday's events was junior Emily Cable. After setting the Yale record in the 400-meter dash on Saturday, Cable returned to nearly match her record-breaking time in 55.54. She placed ninth.

In the 3,000-meter run, junior Kira Garry placed 11th out of 40 competitors. Her time of 9:31.19 is just seconds off her personal best.

Sophomore Karleh Wilson also competed on Sunday in the shot put, her best event. Her mark of 13.63m (44-08.75) earned her 10th place.

The Bulldogs will be back on the track this April, when the full team returns for the outdoor season.
