NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Carrying the momentum from impressive performances at last weekend's Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, the Yale women's track and field team will continue competing this week, sending a small group of runners to the West Point Twilight meet on Thursday and the ECAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday.

Solely middle distance runners will be racing for the Bulldogs in Thursday's competition. In the 800 meters, Samantha Friborg will be looking to improve upon her season's best time of 2:07.83 in search of a spot at the NCAA East Regional later this month. Track and field captain Emma Lower will be racing her final 800 meters for Yale, and Megan Quimby will be returning to the 800 meters after a personal best in the 1500 meters last Saturday at Princeton.

In the 1500 meters, Jocelyn Chau will look to improve upon her season's best of 4:22.77, which she narrowly missed last weekend running a 4:22.95 in the preliminary round of Heps. Arianna Lord is also set to toe the line in the 1500 meters, looking for more success after steadily improving in the event throughout the season.

On Saturday, Erin Gerardo will be competing in the pole vault at ECACs while Sevanne Ghazarian and Jane Miller run in the 5,000 meters. Ghazarian just recorded a personal best of 16:58.89 in the event during day two of the Ivy League Championships and Miller will be making a return to the 5K after primarily focusing on the 10,000 meters this outdoor season. The 5,000 meters will take place at 6:30 p.m.

After tactical races and rainy conditions last weekend, the Bulldogs will be searching for success in one of the final weekends of competition for the 2019 season.
