NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale took the top five spots in the mile run to highlight the Bulldogs' performance at the Yale Collegiate Invitational Saturday. Bevin Peters won (5:08.20), followed by Liz Calle (5:19.34), Katie Matlack (5:24.43), Jackie Myers (5:24.76) and Karen Porter (5:35.77). Yale also took the top two spots in the distance medley, with the B team finishing in 12:06.20 and the A team finishing in 12:07.89.
Yale's other individual winner was Dionna Thomas, who won the triple jump (11.89m). Ola Awolesi (11.32m) took third.
The Bulldogs had a slew of second-place finishers, starting with Margo Angelopoulos in the shot put (12.47m) behind Sacred Heart's Marsha Locke (12.85m). Kelley Moore (11.33m) was sixth. In the weight throw, Moore was fifth (14.03m), Angelopoulos 7th (13.18m) and Kayla Cagle 18th (10.41m). Yale assistant coach Anna Mahon also threw, posting a meet-best 19.80m.
Molly Lederman was second in the pole vault (3.65m), while Bryna Harrington was 9th (2.90m). Joslyn Woodard was second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.75, trailing only Essex County College's Allison George (7.66).
Katie Dlesk placed third in the 400-meter dash (57.74). Sharifa Love was seventh (1:00.07), Jessica Pall was ninth (1:00.57), Rachel Harrington was 18th (1:03.00) and Sterling Evans was 30th (1:07.23).
The Yale 4x800m relay team also posted a win (9:29.88), as did the 4x400m team (3:55.45). Yale also had the 5th-place team in the 4x400 (4:04.49).
The Bulldogs return to action next Saturday at Dartmouth with Columbia.
