Elis Finish Fifth at Heps With 49 Points

Feb. 29, 2004

Katrina Castille won the 60 meter dash as the Bulldogs finished fifth at the Heps in Ithaca, NY. In field events, Joslyn Woodard and Molly Lederer also won the long jump and the pole vault, respectively. Woodard set a new Ivy record with her long jump distance on Saturday.

Castille's time of 7.66 earned her first place in the event. The Heps record holder in that race, Woodard, was disqualified for a false start in the semifinals and did not have a chance to compete and try to break her 7.59 record.

She did, however, set a new record on Saturday with her long jump of 20'7", which broke the old mark by nearly a foot.

Molly Lederer's pole vault height of 12'5.5" earned her the victory in that event.

The Bulldogs trailed behind first-place finisher Cornell as well as Princeton, Brown, and Penn. They will compete next weekend in the Indoor IC4As.
