ITHACA, N.Y. - The Yale women's track and field team ended competition at the Heptagonal Championship in seventh place with 36 points. Princeton won the team title with 114 points and Brown was second with 107 points.
Senior Lindsay Donaldson added gold to her silver in the 5,000-meter run the day before with a victory in the 3,000-meter run. Donaldson ran 9:42.62 to beat Brown's Smita Gupta, who finished second in 9:45.06.
Sophomore Claudia Duncan finished fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 56.93, an excellent performance given Cornell's flat track. Duncan later returned to anchor the third-place 4x400-meter relay to a time of 3:48.78, a new school record, eclipsing the previous record of 3:48.92 set by a team of Jessica Pall, Faith Briggs, Katherine Dlesk and Duncan.
The Bulldogs' effort received its final contribution from the 4x800-meter relay. The team of Kathryn Schleckser, Meredith Leenhouts, Stephany Reaves and Ingrid Sproll finished fifth in a time of 9:07.49.
The Bulldogs will be in action again next weekend at the indoor ECAC championships to conclude the season.
