BOSTON - The Bulldogs wrapped up competition at the ECAC Championships hosted at Reggie Lewis Track in Boston with a new school record and a very strong performance in the 800-meter run. The Bulldogs, who placed 23rd with 13 points, improved on their 27th-place finish with 10 points last year.

Junior Claudia Duncan showed that there is no end in sight in how fast she can go in the 500-meter dash. As she has already done two times so far this season, Duncan went out and set a new record in the event, lowering her own record in the event by .13 seconds. Duncan, who was the fastest runner in the qualifying round on Saturday, set a new school record of 1:13.44, in the preliminary round. Today, though, running against even tougher competition in the finals round, Duncan went even faster, running to a very fast time of 1:13.31. This performance was good enough for fourth place and earned the team five points. Duncan's time is also the fastest time in the Ivy League.

Sophomore Kate Grace also turned in a solid performance in the 800-meter run today by taking second after setting a new school record on Saturday. In Saturday's qualifying round, Grace set a new school record in a time of 2:06.41, a time that was the second-best performance of the day. Today, Grace came back and took second in a time of 2:09.09. Her performance earned the Bulldogs eight points. The fastest runner from yesterday chose to not run in the finals, but the race was still very fast with the winner, Caitlin Bailey from Boston College, winning in a time of 2:04.66, an NCAA Championships automatic qualifying time. Grace's performance is currently the 19th-fastest time in the nation this year and is the fastest in the Ivy League.

Senior Kelli Buck also competed for the Bulldogs in the 3,000-meter run. She took 22nd in the event with a time of 10:19.00.

The Bulldogs will now prepare for the outdoor season with their annual spring break training trip to California. The Bulldogs will open the outdoor season at the University of California-Irvine Invitational on Mar. 20-21.
