Yale Finishes Third at Long Beach Classic

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Yale started off the outdoor season by placing third (121 points) Saturday afternoon at the Long Beach Classic. Cornell won with 168 points.

Molly Lederman won the pole vault and set the meet record with a height of 3.80 meters. Ashley Nolet was third with a height of 3.65 meters.

Yale's other winner was Katherine Dlesk in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.94).

Other top three finishers included Joslyn Woodard was second in the long jump with a distance of 5.74 meters. She was also second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.89. Olakitan Awolesi was second in the triple jump with a distance of 11.63 meters.

Erica Davis was second in the shot put and discus with distances of 13.76 meters and 43.52 meters. Margo Angelopoulos was third in the discus with a toss of 42.63 meters.

Ashley Campbell was third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:44.17.
