NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's track and field team completed competition at the Yale Springtime Invitational at the Cuyler-Dwyer complex in New Haven on Saturday with many successful last-chance efforts before the Heptagonal Championships hosted by Yale on May 10 and 11.

Senior Mary Kuder stole the show at the Springtime Invitational. The senior sprinter elected to run the grueling 800-meter run, as opposed to her typical 200 or 400-meter dash, and in doing so ran an electric 2:14.10, an especially great performance given that Kuder has not run an 800 at all during indoor or outdoor track, or since high school. Kuder's only attempt at the distance nearly placed her on the top-ten all-time list for 800-meter performances at Yale, falling less than two tenths (2:13.93 is the current number ten performance) off the back of the list.

Other winners included junior Bevin Peters in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:31.88), freshman Eve King in the high jump (5-03.00), junior Kelli Buck in the 3,000-meter run (10:10.50) and the 4x100-meter relay (49.27).

The Bulldogs will appear next at the conference Heptagonal Championships, hosted at Yale on May 10 and 11 at the Cuyler-Dwyer complex.
