Lederman and Donaldson to Compete at NCAA Championships
March 7, 2006
This year's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held again in the Tyson Indoor Track Complex at University of Arkansas. Captain Molly Lederman will be representing Yale in the pole vault, while Lindsay Donaldson will be running in both the mile and 3,000-meter run. Competition will be March 10-11.
As a freshman, Donaldson finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run (9:24.70) at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships and was the only freshman to qualify for the event. Donaldson has had a stellar sophomore campaign in which she was second in the mile run (4:43.79) and third in the 3,000-meter run (9:32.00) at Heps. Last weekend, she won the 3,000-meter run at ECACs (9:25.63). She will be looking to better last year's performance while also competing in the mile. She currently holds the school mile record at 4:43.19 and is third all-time in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:16.97.
Lederman is a senior and is in her final year of collegiate indoor track. She is looking to build upon last outdoor season in which she was able to vault at nationals and finish 20th (3.90 meters). She most recently won Heps with a school record height of 4.10 meters. Last weekend, she won the pole vault at ECACs (4.05 meters). She will be looking to establish herself as one of the best vaulters in the nation.
