Long Beach, CA - Joslyn Woodard won the long jump and placed second in the 200m dash to help Yale to a 5th-place finish (112 pts.) at the Long Beach Classic Saturday. Molly Lederman won the pole vault and Yale's 4x100m relay team earned a second-place finish to highlight the effort.
Woodard's 5.89m jump placed her well ahead of second-place Nina Wade of Weber State (5.65m). Her 200m dash time of 24.65 place her just behind UC-Santa Barbara's Kylie McCuen (24.46). Lederman won the pole vault with a 3.35m, while the 4x100m relay team finished in 47.22 to Long Beach State's 46.81. Yale also got top-five finishes from the 4x400m relay (3:57.13) and Sarah Mendillo in the javelin (38.98m).
Yale returns to action next weekend at the Raleigh Relays.
