Bulldogs Ready For Heptagonal Championship

The Bulldogs look to improve upon last year's fourth place finish this weekend at the annual Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Competition will take place May 5 and 6 at Princeton's Weaver Stadium.

Yale has a number of athletes looking to make a mark this year both on the track and in the field:

100-meter Dash: The Bulldogs will be represented by Katrina Castille, who is ranked second in the league with a time of 11.84.

200-meter Dash: Castille is seventh in the league with a time of 24.80, while teammate Jessica Pall is ninth with a time of 25.07.

1,500-meter Run: Lindsay Donaldson is ranked fifth in the league with a time of 4:27.46.

5,000-meter Run: Third in the 3,000-meter run last year, Donaldson currently leads this event with a time of 16:17.21.

400-meter Hurdles: Third in this event last year, Katherine Dlesk is ranked seventh in the league.

3,000-meter Steeplechase: Having qualified for NCAA regionals earlier this season, Elizabeth Calle will be looking to make her mark as she is currently ranked seventh with a time of 10:48.45.

High Jump: Jennifer Lin cleared a height of 1.64 meters during indoor season and this mark puts her at ninth in the league.

Long Jump: Olakitan Awolesi has jumped 5.70 meters so far this season, putting her at ninth in the league.

Triple Jump: Awolesi is ranked fifth in this event at a distance of 12.11 meters, which she jumped during indoor season.

Pole Vault: Having jumped 3.65 meters so far this season, Ashley Nolet is ranked seventh in the league.

Shot Put: Erica Davis is ranked third with a distance of 13.86 meters and placed fourth in this event a year ago.

Discus Throw: After breaking her own school record numerous times, Davis will be looking to improve on her mark of 49.66 meters set this season, putting her rank at second.

Relays: Second in the 4x100-meter relay last year, Yale will be looking to improve on their time of 47.39, which is ranked third in the league. The 4x400-meter relay team is ranked sixth this year at 3:48.92, which was run during the indoor season.
