Yale Stands Among Teams from Nation's Top Volleyball Conferences

NEW HAVEN -- Yale wrapped up its fourth straight Ivy League championship season ranked 45th in the final NCAA Women's Volleyball National RPI rankings.

The ranking marked the highest finish for the Bulldogs since 2008, when they completed the season 30th overall. Yale finished the 2013 season 20-5 overall, 13-1 in the Ivy League and made its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

The 2013 season featured one of the toughest non-conference schedules in program history for the Bulldogs.  Yale faced Penn State, the eventual national champion with the No. 1 RPI, and two other teams in the RPI top 6 -- Missouri (5) and Stanford (6).

In addition, Yale's RPI ranking was higher than multiple teams from BCS athletic conferences, such as the Pac-12 (5), Big 12 (5), Southeastern (5) and Big Ten (3). Yale's ranking marked the highest of any team in the Ivy League.
