NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- After winning their ninth Ivy League title in the last 15 seasons, the Bulldogs will find out their NCAA Tournament first-round opponent this Sunday evening.
The NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament Selection Show will air Sunday, November 25, at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on ESPNU. The Bulldogs finished the regular season 19-4 overall and 13-1 in Ivy League play to earn the conference's automatic berth to the tournament.
This year marks Yale's seventh appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs have won two NCAA matches in program history and are the only Ivy League school with more than one win in the women's volleyball national tournament.
Following the end of the conference season, the Bulldogs swept the Ivy League's major individual season awards. Head coach Erin Appleman was named Ivy League Coach of the Year, while Frances Arnautou (Ivy League Player of the Year), team captain Kate Swanson (Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year) and first-year Ellis DeJardin (Ivy League Rookie of the Year) earned individual honors. Arnautou, DeJardin, Swanson and Kelley Wirth were all named All-Ivy First Team selections, while first-year Samantha Bray earned a spot on the All-Ivy Second Team.
