Cat Dailey Selected as AVCA All-Northeast Region Honorable Mention

Dec. 10, 2008

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After leading the Yale volleyball team to a 13-1 Ivy League record and the third Ivy League Championship in program history, junior outside hitter Cat Dailey has been selected as an All-Northeast Region honorable mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Dailey led Yale with 3.73 kills per set and ranked third in digs with 3.10 per frame. She is the first Yale player to earn All-Region laurels since Shannon Farrell '07, who was an honorable mention after the 2005 campaign.

Dailey was previously selected by the head coaches of the Ancient Eight as the unanimous Ivy League Player of the Year. She led the Ivy League with an average of 4.24 kills per set in league play, and also ranked eighth in service aces with 0.29 per set and ninth in hitting percentage at .302. The Newport Beach, Calif. native registered at least 218 more swings than any other player ranking in the top ten in hitting efficiency.

Dailey was previously honored as Ivy League Player of the Week on Oct. 14 and Nov. 18. She was the only player in the Ancient Eight to earn that distinction on more than one occasion this season.
