Liya Assefa Elected Captain for 2010
At the annual cross country banquet on Monday night, coaches and runners looked back on the season, even as track competition has already begun. The Bulldogs elected junior Liya Assefa as their captain for next year, and senior Alexandra Cadicamo won the womens cross country award.

Bulldogs Compete at NCAA Regionals
The Yale cross country team competed in its last meet of the season on Saturday. Boston University hosted the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships at Franklin Park. Of the 43 teams in the Northeast Region, 35 competed and Yale finished 15th with 474 points.

Bulldogs Ready for NCAA Regionals
The Yale cross country team is prepared to compete at the NCAA Division I Regional Championships this weekend. Boston University is hosting the meet at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. For most of the Bulldogs, the race will be the last of the season.

Bulldogs Compete at Heptagonal Championships
Yale's cross country teams competed at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx in New York City. The Bulldogs finished eighth with 238 points.

Bulldogs Excited to Compete at Heptagonals Championship
The Bulldogs will travel to Van Cortlandt Park in New York, N.Y., on Friday to compete in the 61st Ivy League Heptagonals Cross Country Championship. Columbia is hosting the event, at which all eight Ivy League schools will be present to compete.

Penn State National Canceled Due to Weather
Due to inclement weather in the University Park, Pa. area, the Penn State National Invitational that was scheduled for Friday morning was canceled. Instead, the Bulldogs, along with several other teams that were scheduled to run at Penn State, will be competing at Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pa.

Bulldogs Compete at Impromptu Lock Haven Meet
Though snow, rain and mud rarely stop cross country runners from racing through a course as planned, on Friday the Penn State National Invitational was canceled due to weather. Instead of just heading home, 18 of the original 29 teams scheduled to compete traveled about an hour northeast to compete at Lock Haven University. The school regularly hosts cross country meets, and so was able to arrange for the women to run their 6k course at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs finished in 11th place.

Bulldogs to Compete at Penn State National
The Yale cross country team will compete in a hugely stacked field this weekend at the Penn State National Invitational. Hosted by Penn State in University Park, Pa., this race draws nearly 300 runners from 28 NCAA Division I and Division II schools around the country. This is the Bulldogs last meet of the regular season before competing in championship meets.

Bulldogs Fall to Harvard in Dual Meet
The Bulldogs traveled to Franklin Park in Boston this Friday to compete in the 34th Harvard-Yale dual meet on the Crimsons home course. Yale came in second against their rivals with 49 points during the cloudy afternoon.

Bulldogs Go Head-to-Head with Harvard
The Yale womens cross country team will head north to face tough rival Harvard this Friday. The Crimson is hosting the dual meet, which will be held at its home course at Franklin Park in Boston. For the past several years the Yale women have competed in a Harvard-Yale-Princeton tri-meet at this time of the season (which Yale hosted last year), but Princeton will not be competing on Friday; the Yale mens cross country team has held a dual meet with Harvard at this time for the past 95 years.

Bulldogs Finish Sixth at Iona Meet of Champions
The Yale womens cross country team finished sixth at the Iona Meet of Champions Saturday at the renowned Van Cortlandt Park in New York City. Several team members who did not compete in New York competed at the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, Conn. where they finished fourth.

The Yale womens cross country team will go two different ways this weekend: most of the team will travel to the Bronx in New York City to compete in the 15th Annual Br. John Paddy Doyle/ Iona College Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park. Several of the women will be staying nearby to compete at the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, Conn.

Bulldogs Come in Second at Fairfield Invitational
The Yale Womens Cross Country team traveled to Fairfield, Conn. Saturday morning for the Fairfield Invitational. The Bulldogs came in a strong second place finish with 34 points, only six points behind the first-place University of Connecticut team, which finished the meet with 28 points.

Bulldogs Open Season with Fairfield Invitational
The Yale womens cross country team will plunge into the 2009 season on Saturday at the Fairfield Invitational hosted by Fairfield University. After long indoor and outdoor track seasons, followed by a summer away and then most of August training together, the Bulldogs are ready to return to the long-distance competition of the fall.
