Epstein and Marvin Earn All-Ivy Honors
Bulldogs Rewarded for Finishing in the Top 14 at Heps
PRINCETON, N.J. - Two Bulldogs were named to the 2011 All-Ivy team for their performance at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Oct. 29. Sophomore Liana Epstein was seventh overall and junior Elizabeth Marvin was eighth. Epstein joined the rest of the top seven finishers on the first team All-Ivy list while Marvin was named second team All-Ivy.
Epstein and Marvin finished within two seconds of each other to lead Yale to fourth place at Heps. This result is the team's highest since 2006, when it was also fourth of the eight Ancient Eight schools. This year's race will most likely go down as the wildest meet in Heps history: snow began to fall during the men's title race and didn't let up throughout the whole of the women's race, making the course slippery and cold.
The Bulldogs will compete in their last guaranteed meet of the season on Nov. 12 at the NCAA Regional meet in Amherst, N.Y.
