Women's Cross Country Finishes 16th at NCAA Pre-Nationals

In the 32-team NCAA Pre-Nationals, held at the University of Northern Iowa, the Yale women's cross-country finished in 16th place overall with 393 points.

Cara Kiernan led the Elis with a 45th overall finish and a time of 21:22, while teammate Melissa Donais finished close behind with a time of 21:44 and a 64th-place standing.

Rounding out the rest of the top five runners were Susan Chan (21:55, 78th place), Anne Martin (22:06, 101st place) and Emily Vince (22:20, 105th place.)

Also running for the Elis but not counted in the team scores were Nadia Sawicki, who finished in 22:20, and Rebecca Hunter, who ran a 22:56.

With 86 team points, Brigham Young University won the race, while the top individual finisher was Shalane Flanagan, who ran a 19:30 for second-place University of North Carolina.
