Yale Takes 3rd at Heps

New York, NY - With Lindsay Donaldson registering the best time ever by a Bulldog at the event, Yale placed third at the Heptagonal Cross Country Championship Friday afternoon in New York's Van Cortlandt Park. Columbia won with 51 points, followed by Princeton (64), Yale (73), Dartmouth (108), Cornell (114), Harvard (135), Brown (176) and Penn (217).

Donaldson's time of 17:16.5 placed her second behind Columbia's Caroline Bierbaum (17:12.2). Yale's previous best time at the event had been Kate O'Neill's 17:18.3 in 2002. Cara Kiernan finished fourth (17:20.3) with a time that places her fifth on Yale's all-time Heps list. She and Donaldson earned first team All-Ivy status for their efforts. They were followed by Anne Martin (19th, 18:23.3), Katherine McKinstry (23rd, 18:25.8) and Susan Chan (25th, 18:28.8).

Van Cortlandt Park is the site for the NCAA Regionals on November 13.
