TERRE HAUTE, IND. - Senior captain Lindsay Donaldson earned her sixth All-American honor Monday, finishing 38th at NCAA cross country nationals in a time of 21:01.9 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. Juniors Sally Kipyego of Texas Tech and Jenny Barringer of Colorado, who is also the 2007 US National Champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, were first and second place for the second straight year in 19:30.9 and 19:47.8 respectively.
"Things were going according to plan through the three kilometer mark," Donaldson recalled. "I was in the top twenty, but things began to fall apart with two kilometers to go."
"I would like to have finished better, but I really can't complain; a lot of people ran really great races today," Donaldson continued.
Despite a tough race, Donaldson was able to hang on for her third cross country (sixth career) All-American honor, a Yale career record, to finish her stellar cross country career for the Bulldogs.
