NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's cross country team will compete at the Murray Keatinge Invitational, hosted by the University of Maine in Orono, Maine, on Saturday, Oct. 4. This will be the second straight year the Bulldogs have run in the meet, and hopefully this year will bring similar results to last year's effort.
During the 2007 campaign, Yale finished second to a very strong Duke team (57-126 pts.) at the Murray Keatinge Invitational. That race is generally considered the best team performance of the season for the Bulldogs. Three harriers return from that effort: senior Bevin Peters (12th overall - 18:05.2), junior Stephanie Pearl (17th - 18:13.4) and senior captain Kelli Buck (27th - 18:28.4).
This year the Murray Keatinge Invitational has attracted improved competition. Duke, ranked 20th in the country, headlines a field that includes no. 25 Boston College, Holy Cross, Maine, Dartmouth, New Hampshire, the University of New Brunswick and, of course, Yale.
The women's race will begin at 10:00 a.m. Results will be available after the completion of the men's race at 10:45 a.m.
