NEW HAVEN, Conn. — After opening their season with a sweeping victory over the Naval Academy and claiming both the Johnson and Van Amringe Cups, the Yale lightweights return to home territory this Saturday to race against Georgetown. This weekend has traditionally been the contest between Yale and M.I.T for the James C. Joy Cup, with Georgetown more recently joining as a guest competitor. The departure of M.I.T. from the EARC means that the Joy Cup retires with Yale, last year's first varsity winner.
Yale will race three eights on the Housatonic River this Saturday morning with races beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The race will be streamed on ESPN+.
A spectator bus to the boathouse will leave Payne Whitney Gymnasium at 8:15 a.m., and return from Gilder at 10:15 a.m.
Third Varsity: 9:00 a.m.
Second Varsity: 9:20 a.m.
First Varsity: 9:40 a.m.
