Lovejoy notches key win

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Yale Men's Squash Team is back in the winning column with a 6-3 victory against No. 9 Princeton on Sunday. Each of the Elis' top four seeds notched pivotal wins in the match.

Yale's No. 1 seed, Spencer Lovejoy, swept his opponent, Aditya Rhagavan, 11-3, 11-3, 11-4.

"I felt I played well today because I was focused 100% from the first point to the last," said Lovejoy. "I was aggressive and took the game to [Rhagavan] by taking the ball early and putting a lot of pressure on him."

Lovejoy added that he hopes to stay focused and aggressive for his upcoming matches against No. 10 St. Lawrence and No. 5 Rochester.

Also winning 3-0 was No. 9 seed Yohan Pandole, who gave the team momentum in the early going. No. 4 seed Calvin McCafferty won a key, five-game match late to clinch the victory.

The Bulldogs continue their homestand against St. Lawrence on Saturday and Rochester on Sunday. Both matches are noon starts.
