Yale Faces No. 8 Brown, Penn & Columbia

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After testing itself against top national programs in the opening two weeks of the spring season, the Yale women's crew gets a look at some more familiar opponents. The Bulldogs are headed to Princeton's Carnegie Lake for the Ivy Invitational on Sunday.

It will still present Yale with a challenge. The Bulldogs, who are ranked ninth in this week's CRCA-US Rowing national poll, race No. 8 Brown in the morning and then face Penn and Columbia in the afternoon session. The Quakers received votes in this week's poll.

The morning session kicks off for the Bulldogs at 8:30 a.m. with a combined varsity four and second varsity four race. The first race in the afternoon is the second varsity four at 1:45 p.m. ESPN+ has video of all of the races. All eight Ivy schools are participating.

It's been a strong start to the spring for Yale. The varsity eight already has victories over No. 10 Virginia, No. 11 Wisconsin, No. 18 Alabama and No. 20 Minnesota on its resume. The only blemish came last weekend to No. 6 Michigan in the Ivy-Big Ten Double Dual.

Brown kicked off its spring season against Princeton and Ohio State last weekend on Carnegie Lake. The Bears were second to Princeton in the varsity eight and won the varsity four.

Penn captured the Murphy Cup in its first weekend of competition and placed fifth out of 12 teams at the Doc Hosea Invitational last weekend. Columbia also was in the Doc Hosea Invitational and placed ninth.
