New Haven, Conn. - Two Yale gymnasts were honored with ECAC weekly awards for their performance against Springfield, SCSU and Brockport in the Bulldogs' first meet of the season. Junior Lindsay Andsager was named Specialist of the Week, and senior captain Mia Yabut was named Coaches' Choice.

Andsager tied for second with a 9.775 on the uneven bars, the event on which she typically specializes. Andsager's finish was especially notable given the high level of competition on bars. Six girls scored higher than a 9.5 on the event. Andsager is known for her long lines and an exciting series of three consecutive release moves between the bars.

Yabut, who also won the Coaches' Choice award last season following her performance at the Ivy Classic, has been injured during her past three years on the team. Last Saturday's performance marked the first time Yabut has competed all-around in her collegiate career. Although Yabut struggled on the balance beam, she had a solid performance on the other three events and finished with an all-around total of 36.275. Yabut's coaches were especially impressed by her determination to compete in the all-around before graduation.
