Bulldogs and Tigers Clash in Rochester
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Dogs and cats will be skating, not raining, when Yale takes on RIT Friday and Saturday night. The Bulldogs will be opening their season while the Tigers enter the weekend with a 1-2-1 record.
This will be the second year in a row Yale plays RIT to open the regular season. Last year, the Bulldogs swept the series at Ingalls Rink, with 4-1 and 8-2 wins. Yale dominated both games in 2016-17, outshooting the Tigers 92 to 36. Kara Drexler had four assists through the weekend, Eden Murray pitched in three helpers while Jordan Chancellor had a goal and two assists.
The Bulldogs enter fresh off of the preseason, dropping a close 4-2 exhibition to McGill while taking a 2-0 scrimmage win over Brown. Jordan Chancellor and Emma Vlasic added goals against McGill, while Saroya Tinker and Laura Anderson found the back of the net versus Brown.
The Tigers will be battling their second ECAC foe of the season. RIT traveled to RPI, dropping two games 3-1 and 4-1 to the Engineers. Kendall Cornine scored both goals for RIT, while Jessi O'Leary added 50 saves over the weekend.
