Yale Visits RPI, Union
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale Bulldogs continue their road trip to open the season when they visit the RPI Engineers and the Union Dutchwomen on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The Bulldogs faced off against the two teams a total of four times last season, going 3-1-0 with their sole loss in overtime. They outscored the Engineers and Dutchwomen 15-5 while gaining six points in the ECAC standings.
Yale is coming off a 1-1-0 series against RIT, in which the Bulldogs took the only regulation win of the weekend. Julia Yetman picked up a team high two points from the blue line on the back of a goal and an assist. Lauren Moriyama and Greta Skarzynski each picked up their first career points, with an assist apiece. Tera Hofmann took home the win, allowing one goal on 28 shots for a .964 save percentage.
RPI (2-4) had its own series against RIT earlier this season, taking both games by 3-1 and 4-1 scores. Those remain the Engineers' only wins on the season. They had the last weekend off. Shayna Tomlinson's six points leads RPI while Lovisa Selander has played in every game so far for the Engineers. She has a 2.52 goals against average to go with a .926 save percentage.
Union (0-5-1) is still searching for its first win of the season. The Dutchwomen have dropped three straight games by a combined 18-1 score. Arianna Kosakowski leads Union with four points. First year goalie Coco Francis has a .956 save percentage and a 1.31 goals against average in four games played.
