Yale Welcomes Union, RPI to Start New Month

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - With November in the books, the Yale Bulldogs look to conquer December with a strong start. Yale hosts Union and RPI respectively on Friday, December 1st at 6 p.m. and Saturday, December 2nd at 3 p.m. to begin the month.

The Bulldogs are coming off a two point weekend at the Nutmeg Classic in which they tied both Quinnipiac (in a non-conference match) and Penn State. Greta Skarzynski and Emma Vlasic each had a strong weekend, with four points apiece. Skarzynski, with two goals and two assists, was named ECAC Rookie of the Week for her performance, while Vlasic was a finalist for ECAC Player of the Week. The two rank in the top three for Yale in points, with Skarzynski leading the Bulldogs with nine points.

The Bulldogs are 0-1-1 against this weekend's teams this season, with a 2-2 tie against RPI and a 3-1 loss to Union. Yale scored a power play goal in each game, with Kara Drexler the only Bulldog to find the net against Union. Mallory Souliotis had the other power play marker while Courtney Pensavalle scored the game-tying goal against RPI. Tera Hofmann stopped a season-high 36 shots against the Engineers.
