Yale Hosts BU, Travels to UNH

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale Bulldogs will wrap up December, and 2017, with two games against out-of-conference Hockey East opponents. Yale hosts Boston University on Thursday, December 7th, before traveling to take on New Hampshire on Sunday, December 10th.

The Bulldogs are coming off of a strong weekend, taking a 5-4 overtime victory over Union before falling in a tight battle with RPI 3-1. Yale fell behind against Union early, trailing 3-0 heading into the third period before an impressive first goal by Greta Skarzynski. The 3-1 game escalated to a 4-1 game before three straight Yale goals tied the game. Emily Monaghan had the game-tying goal with just over two minutes left and the Yale net empty. Skarzynski won the game in overtime on the power play for the Bulldogs.

Skarzynski, a first year forward, leads Yale with 12 points on the season. That total is split evenly with six goals and assists. Mallory Souliotis had a big weekend for the Bulldogs as well with three assists, moving her into second on the team in points with nine. The senior defender played in her 100th career game last Saturday against RPI.

The Bulldogs continued their strong start to the power play with three goals against Union with the advantage. Their season success rate at 22.9 percent is tied for sixth in the nation.
