Bulldogs Fall on the Road

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After riding a four game win streak into February, the Yale Bulldogs couldn't continue their magic on Friday night, dropping a 4-2 duel against the St. Lawrence Saints.

Yale (9-11-4, 7-8-2 ECAC) fell behind early, as St. Lawrence pounded the net in the second period for four goals.

The Bulldogs crawled back right after, as Courtney Pensavalle picked up her third goal of the season to make it a 4-1 game. Tess Dettling picked up an assist for her second point in her last three games.

Emma Vlasic made the game a bit closer early in the third period, firing a puck home to cut the Saints lead to 4-2. Kaitlin Gately and Mallory Souliotis each recorded an assist on the play, giving Souliotis a team-high 23 points.

St. Lawrence (15-9-3, 11-5-1) was 1-1 on the power play while outshooting Yale 31-20.

The Bulldogs take on the defending national champions in Clarkson on Saturday afternoon.
