Bulldogs and Golden Knights Clash

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale Bulldogs, coming off a win over Quinnipiac in the regular-season finale, head up to New York this weekend for ECAC Hockey post-season play after a strong regular season. The Elis are the No. 8 seed and face first-place Clarkson, the nation's No. 2 ranked squad.

The Bulldogs and Golden Knights played at Potsdam earlier this season with Clarkson squeaking out a 2-1 win. Greta Skarzynski scored Yale's only goal in the game, while Gianna Meloni had 23 saves on 25 shots.

It's a best-of-three series with the winner moving on to the ECAC semifinals. The first two games, on Friday and Saturday, have 3 p.m. puck drops with a 2 p.m. on Sunday contest if necessary.

Skarzynski finished the regular season as Yale's leading scorer with 14 goals and 11 assists for a team-high 25 points. Mallory Souliotis led all on defense with 24 points and a team-high 20 assists. Emma Vlasic had 17 points backed by 11 goals after posting 11 career points going into this season, while Julia Yetman had 17 points on the strength of 14 assists.

Meloni finished with a team-high 6 wins, part of a 6-5-1 record that included a .932 save percentage and a 1.84 goals against average.
