  • Spring Academic All-Ivy Announced
    June 26, 2019
    The Ivy League released its list of student-athletes selected for 2018-19 Academic All-Ivy honors in its spring sports, and 10 Bulldogs were selected. The 10 thrived in their sport and in the classroom, as starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages. Each Ivy institution nominated five men and five women from its eligible student-athletes.
  • Yale Finishes 3rd at Nationals

    The Bulldogs placed third in the 2019 Sperry Women's National Championship. A season of hard work and consistent wins yielded a podium finish for the Bulldogs in addition to several awards for the accomplished sailors. 
  • Klingler, Nordstrom Named All-Americans
    May 25, 2019
    Junior skippers Chrissie Klingler and Louisa Nordstrom were honored at the 2019 Sperry Women's National Championship held at Sail Newport in Rhode Island.
  • Yale in Fifth After Day 1 of National Championship

    The Bulldogs sit in fifth with a cumulative 167 points after the first day of the Sperry Women's National Championship. After a rocky start to the day - due to the incredibly tricky wind patterns - the Bulldogs are now only approximately 20 points (in each division) away from the leaders due to their steady improvement over the course of the day.
  • Yale Wins Big at Eastern Semis

    The Bulldogs dominated the Sperry Women's Eastern Semifinals at Sail Newport, handily winning both divisions for an overall 46-point margin. The Bulldogs won the A division with 53 points and B division with 41, for a combined score of 94 across 26 races. 
  • Yale Leads Eastern Semis

    The Bulldogs are sitting in first by a large margin after the first day of the Sperry Women's Eastern Semifinals. The heavy wind conditions and challenging waves off Rose Island adjacent to the Sail Newport facilities were skillfully managed by the women's team, which is winning the event with 38 points overall, a 49-point lead over second-place Dartmouth.  
  • Bulldogs to Sail in Semifinals in Newport
    May 20, 2019
    The Yale Women's sailing team heads to Newport Rhode Island to compete in the 4-day fleet race nationals events that begin on Tuesday. The 36 qualifying teams are seeded into two equal geographic groups. The Bulldogs will spend the first two days racing against 17 other Eastern women's teams, and the top 9 boats from that regatta will start with a blank slate the following day to race against their top nine Western counterparts in the two day Sperry Women's Fleet Race regatta.
  • Bulldogs Receive NEISA Honors

    Yale Bulldogs earned extensive recognition at the 2019 Women's All NEISA Team awards ceremony held after the NEISA Women's Championship at MIT. That included Louisa Nordstrom being named NEISA Women's Skipper of the Year.
  • Bulldogs Deftly Qualify for Nationals

    The Bulldogs qualify for the LaserPerformance Women's Nationals this weekend by placing 5th overall at the NEISA Women's Championship at MIT. Volatile wind conditions that bordered on unsailable on both ends of the spectrum were no mach for the Yale women's sailing team as they maintained consistency and tact through 16 races in each division over the two day regatta.
  • Reed Trophy on the Line in Boston

    The Bulldogs travel to Boston this weekend to compete in the Reed Trophy at MIT. The Reed serves as the New England women's conference championship and the top teams from that regatta will qualify for berths at the women's nationals in May.
  • Bulldogs Newcomers Given Opportunity to Shine

    The Bulldogs placed 9th overall this weekend at the Emily Wick Trophy at Coast Guard Academy. The concurrent NEISA Team Race Championship caused a massive shift in the regatta distributions this weekend, allowing first years valuable opportunities to sail against one of the hardest women's fleets in the country.

  • Bulldogs Clinch Third Win in a Row

    The Bulldogs exhibited a dominant performance this weekend at the Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy, winning both A and B division and securing first by an almost 70 point margin. Turbulent wind conditions and last minute pairing changes were no match for the Bulldogs, who finished 26 out of the 28 races in the top 10 and garnered eight bullets combined across both divisions.
  • Bulldogs to Sail Dellenbaugh at Brown

    After a weekend of coed regattas, the Yale Women's Sailing team travels to Providence to compete in the Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy at Brown. Having won the first two women's regattas of the season, the Bulldogs are surely the team to beat this weekend.
  • Repeat Victory for Bulldogs at SMC InterConference

    The Bulldogs clinched yet another outstanding victory this weekend at the St. Mary's Women's InterConference this weekend. The Yale Women's Sailing team won the regatta handily by a 22 point margin over second place Harvard. The sailors secured the number one position and held it for nearly the entirety of the 28 race regatta, despite facing oscillating wind conditions and changing pairings, proving the depth of skill these athletes possess. 
  • Women's Sailing to Race at St Mary's InterConference

    The Yale Women's Sailing team travels to St Mary's City, Maryland, to compete in the St. Mary's Women's InterConference. Fresh off a demanding week of practice in sunny St. Petersburg, the Bulldogs return to the cold northeast.
  • Bulldog Victory in Spring Season Opener

    The Bulldogs won Navy Spring Women's by an extremely impressive 20 point margin. The Bulldogs dominated in the light to medium air conditions in Annapolis, Maryland this weekend, setting the tone for spring 2019 season on a good note. 11 races were sailed in each division despite significant wind delays both Saturday and Sunday.
  • First Regatta of the Spring Season

    This weekend the Yale Women's Sailing team will travel to Annapolis, Maryland to compete in Navy Women's, the first official women's sailing regatta of the spring season. While many of the sailors have previously competed in coed events over the past few weeks, this will mark the first time the six athletes have competed together since the fall championship.
  • Nordstrom Places 11th in the Women's Singlehanded Championship.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Louisa Nordstrom placed 11th in the extremely competitive Laserperformance Women's Singlehanded National Championships. The event, which was held at the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club in Holland, Mich., pitted the nation's most talented female radial sailors against each other in heavy winds and massive swells. Grand Valley State University and Hope College jointly hosted the regatta.

    Junior Louisa Nordstrom will represent the Yale Bulldogs at the Laserperformance Women's Singlehanded Nationals this weekend, which will be hosted by Grand Valley State University and Hope College at the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club in Holland, Michigan.
  • Bulldogs Finish 3rd at Victorian Urn Trophy

    The Bulldogs finished 3rd with 149 points at the Victorian Urn Trophy at Bowdoin, the culminating women's regatta of the fall season. The sailors sailed 14 races in each division in shifty, heavy breeze that was at times accompanied by snow and sleet.

  • Bulldog Victory at Yale Women's Regatta

    The Bulldogs dominated at the home regatta this weekend, winning the competition with 78 points and a 16 point separation from the second place competitors. 10 races in each division were completed in Yale's 420 and FJ fleets on Saturday, with no racing on Sunday due to extremely dangerous conditions peeking at 30 knot gusts.

  • Bulldogs Finish 3rd at Showcase Semi Finals

    The Yale women's sailing team competed in the first ever ‘showcase semifinal’ event this weekend. The regatta represented half of the best teams in the country, while the other half competed in a separate semifinal. Nine teams from each event qualified to move on to the showcase finals hosted by Brown later this season. This new event style is meant to simulate the national championship in the spring.
