Yale had a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth, but Duke scored twice to tie.

The Bulldogs threatened in the seventh. A single by Olivia Vinyard and a double from Carlin Hagmaier had runners on second and third with two out, but Duke pitcher Amelia Wiercioch retired the next hitter to end the threat.

Yale had scored three runs in the second to grab the early lead. The big was Tarte's two-run double.

The Bulldogs lost earlier in the day to Kent State 3-2.
