New Haven, CONN. Wrapping up the 2019 regular season, the Yale women's track and field team will be hosting its final home meet this weekend with the Yale Springtime Invitational.

The meet, taking place on Sunday, April 28th at the Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex, will be the final chance for the Elis to tune up before competing at the Ivy League Outdoor Championships hosted by Princeton the following week. After speedy performances from a select number of middle distance and distance athletes at the Penn Relays on Thursday night, the Bulldogs are posed to test their fitness on the track and the field this weekend.

First-year Emma Vasen will be throwing for the Bulldogs as she looks to continue her dominance on the field. Having now competed in the hammer throw, the shot put and the javelin this season, Vasen has her pick of events to choose from. Also on the field will be jumpers Elizabeth Adelson and Olivia Mooney competing in the high jump, Angele Kelly in the long jump and Erin Gerardo in the pole vault.

Although some of Yale's sprinters are taking a down week to focus on training after competing at last week's War Eagle Invitational in Auburn, Ala., the Elis will be competing in the 4x100 meter relay and individuals will also be racing in various sprint events.

On the middle distance and distance side, Arianna Lord will be in the 800 meters and a group of Bulldogs including Sevanne Ghazarian, Zoe Nuechterlein and Megan Quimby will be racing in the 1500 meters. After making her debut in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Harvard Yale meet two weeks ago, Hannah Steffke will be returning to the event, while Rachel Suss and Kate Zendell run the 3,000 meters to round out the distance races.

Field events begin at 10:00 a.m. with the discus throw while running events kick off at 11:30 a.m. with the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
